Scale Computing Assembles Team of Storage Industry Veterans

Experts from Sun, Pillar, Dell, Panasas, EMC, NetApp and Equallogic come together to develop enterprise-grade storage for the SMB market.

Indianapolis, Indiana—August 17, 2009 — Scale Computing, a developer and manufacturer of ICS™ scalable storage architecture, announces its recent hiring of numerous employees, all with extensive expertise from elite storage companies in the technology industry.

“The Scale team we are building is a testament to the disruptive technology we are bringing to the storage market,” said Jeff Ready, CEO and Board Member, Scale Computing. “Our latest addition is made up of leading storage and channel development experts that have joined in this venture because they believe in our offering and in helping to establish Scale as the leader in enterprise-class storage.”

After bringing nine additional storage experts on board from leading companies such as Dell, Panasas, EMC, NetApp and Equallogic, Scale Computing has built an experienced dream-team of storage industry veterans.

• Drew Meyer has been appointed as Regional Account Manager, Northeast, in Sales and Channel Relations. His long-term storage background includes work with Equallogic, Quantum, Xiotech and Seagate Technologies.
• Brian Avdyli will serve as Regional Account Manager, Central, in Sales and Chanel Relations.  Brian has an extensive storage background from Equallogic, EMC, NetApp and Sun Microsystems.
• Tim Belcher assumes the position of Regional Account Manager, West, in Sales and Channel Relations. Tim’s long-term storage background lies in 18 years of experience with Panasas and Sun Microsystems.
• Bill Downer comes to Scale as the new Director of Federal Sales and Regional Account Manager, Southeast, in Sales and Channel Relations. Bill’s storage expertise comes from a long-term background of work with Panasas, Quantum, Storage Tek and Sun Microsystems.
• Valdis Paupe will serve as System Engineer, East, in Pre and Post Sales Technical Support. Valdis has a long-term storage background from Dell, Equallogic, Sun Microsystems, Xiotech, and Hitachi Data Systems.
• Kevin Greenwood has been appointed to Channel Development, East, for Scale’s Building Channel Partner Network. He has a long-term channel development background from Elron Software, Corvigo, Loglogic and EMC.
• Scott DeWall will fill the position of Director of Channel Development, Americas, for Scale’s Building Channel Partner Network. Scott has a long-term storage background from Pillar Data and Storage Tek.
• Alan Hahn will serve as Vice President, Worldwide Sales for Scale’s Building Sales and Channel Team. Alan has a long-term technology and sales management background from Fairchild, Williams, Telelogic, Corvigo, Loglogic and SolarX.
• William Osser comes to Scale’s engineering team as the lead Quality Assurance (QA) and Test Automation Engineer. William’s prior storage experience comes from Panasas and Trapeze Networks, where he held similar roles.
