Scale Computing’s Q1’11 revenue grew 258 percent over Q1’10. In addition, Scale Computing also announced that Doug Hooton has joined the company as vice president of operations.
“As virtualization gains popularity with the SME, Scale is uniquely positioned for continued, substantial growth,” said Jeff Ready, CEO and co-founder of Scale Computing. “Our unified, scale-out storage is ideal for SMEs looking to implement virtualization as it allows customers to add both capacity and performance in a unified environment - something that Dell and HP do not. Based on our sales in the first quarter, we’re confident in momentum through the remainder of 2011.”
Additional Q1’11 Scale Computing highlights include:
Scale officially announced the addition of Doug Hooton as vice president of operations. Hooton brings over 25 years of experience and leads the company’s supply chain management, professional services and technical support. Hooton joins Scale Computing from EMC’s sales organization. Prior to EMC, Hooton served as vice president of client services with ExactTarget. Doug has held senior operations and client services positions with several established and early stage companies including Walker Information, TManage, Rodeer Systems and IntelliQuest. Doug holds a Bachelor of Science Degree from Indiana University and a Masters of Business Administration from Butler University.
“Doug’s experience and enthusiasm make him a perfect fit for Scale,” said Ready. “We’re confident that Doug’s knowledge base and positive attitude continue building upon Scale’s high customer satisfaction, ultimately leading to continued company growth.”
