SysAdmin Day 2020 (July 31): Time to ‘Save Ferris’ – and you, SysAdmins
Jul 28, 2020
Here at Scale Computing, we think the SysAdmin plays one of the most underappreciated roles in the IT industry.
Picture it: you’re heading out of the office to enjoy your weekend, AND...
This is the part where systems go berserk.
You have to stay late, fixing whatever issue has just occurred, while everyone else leaves to carpe diem. This is why you’ve become the IT Hero.
Consistent. Reliable. Responsive. These are just some of your incredible qualities as a SysAdmin. Whether it’s updating your company’s antivirus software, replacing failed hardware, or repairing a corrupt SQL database, you’re always on call.
You are the backbone of the IT industry. Without you, we would be more susceptible to server failures, downtime and problems with upgrades and capacity. Even in the midst of a crisis, you maintain your team’s momentum to overcome challenges, with a plan of attack for the next time. In fact, it’s someone like you that has made reading this article possible.
Friday July 31st, we’re celebrating the 21st annual SysAdmin Day (the single greatest 24 hours on the planet) where we recognize the incredible men and women who – rain or shine – prevent disasters, keep IT secure, and put out tech fires.
How could you possibly be expected to handle work on a day like this?
For this week only, you can score a free t-shirt and sticker pack from Scale Computing just for being you – our IT Hero.
