Multi-location organizations are at a turning point. Facing rising costs, operational complexity, and mounting competitive pressure, leaders know that technology isn’t optional—it’s the foundation for staying profitable and relevant. Yet, many struggle to modernize legacy systems while maintaining day-to-day operations.
In conjunction with studioID, Scale Computing surveyed 150 executives in multi-location organizations, specifically in the restaurant and retail sectors. We wanted to understand their pressures and pain points, along with their attitudes to the technology solutions that promise to solve them.
We found a business community grappling with pressing operational challenges in a volatile business environment. They are resilient and practical, with a solid understanding of key technology principles. They’re focused on solving immediate problems with a stable of technologies ranging from POS systems to AI and edge computing.
This report explores how these organizations are faring and what they’re planning as they prepare to embrace technology solutions in the immediate future while preparing for strategic developments in the mid- to long-term.
