This past March, Scale Computing and Arrow Electronics brought together distributors, channel partners, and customers at the remarkable McLaren Technology Centre in Woking, Surrey, headquarters of the World Champion McLaren Formula 1 Team. It’s difficult to imagine a more fitting venue for a conversation about performance, engineering, and reliability.
The McLaren Technology Centre, built at a cost of more than £300 million, is widely regarded as one of the most advanced engineering campuses in motorsport and the operational heart of McLaren’s winning Formula 1 program.
Walking through the facility makes one thing immediately clear: success at this level is the result of precision, discipline, and relentless teamwork. In many ways, those same qualities define modern enterprise infrastructure.
Strengthening the Channel Partner Ecosystem
One of the most valuable aspects of the day was the opportunity to discuss how organizations are adapting as infrastructure becomes increasingly distributed. Operating reliably across dozens, or hundreds, of locations requires not only the right technology, but also the right channel partners behind it.
That was the focus of the session regarding Arrow’s Intelligent Solutions offerings. Arrow recently joined the Scale Computing ecosystem, expanding the hardware options available to distributors and collaborators with platforms from Lenovo, Dell Technologies, and Supermicro.
Part of what makes Arrow particularly valuable in this context is its reach. The company serves customers across 85 countries and operates one of the largest technology distribution and integration networks in the world.
Within that organization, Arrow’s Intelligent Solutions team focuses on building and integrating application-specific compute systems, helping bring integrated hardware and software solutions to market faster. Its capabilities span the full lifecycle of compute infrastructure, from system design and engineering through supply chain management, integration, fulfillment, and ongoing operational support.
For Scale Computing distributors and partners, that translates into something practical: greater hardware choice, stronger sourcing options, and a more resilient supply chain for distributed deployments.
Conversations with Partners
During the session, Scale Computing’s UKI Regional Sales Manager, Gary Lynch, spoke about how the collaboration with Arrow strengthens the company’s network across the UK, Ireland, and EMEA as a whole.
The message was straightforward: when channel partners have more flexibility around hardware sourcing and integration, they can deliver solutions to customers faster and with greater confidence.

Ian Smith, Scale Computing’s Vice President for International, was also in attendance, meeting with channel partners and customers throughout the day and continuing conversations about how the company’s partner community continues to grow across the region.
Feedback from attendees was overwhelmingly positive. The combination of technical discussion, dialogue, and the unique venue created an environment where meaningful conversations happened naturally.
A Championship Environment
Beyond the presentations, attendees were able to explore the McLaren Formula 1 museum that highlights the team’s extraordinary racing history. Among the highlights was the championship-winning car driven by 2025 Formula 1 World Champion Lando Norris, offering a close look at the technology behind a championship season.
Seeing the engineering that goes into a Formula 1 car, where fractions of a second determine success, is a powerful reminder of what precision engineering really means.
Performance Matters
In Formula 1, success comes down to reliability, performance, and execution under pressure. The same is true for organizations running distributed infrastructure today. The conversations at the McLaren Technology Centre reinforced an important point: when the right players come together, such as technology providers, distributors, and integrators, organizations can deploy infrastructure that performs consistently wherever it is needed.
There are few places better to be reminded of the value of engineering.
